Snow & Ice Removal

The City of Mansfield is responsible for snow and ice control for more than 280 (2) lane miles and 600 lane miles of streets and alleys. Over the past few years, the Street Department has responded, on average, to 37 snow falls, applying snow/ice control to city streets. High visibility salt barrels were placed in problem areas to assist with ice calls. This program also includes bridge walks, the municipal parking lot, and snow plow markers to prevent plow damage to both snow equipment and personal property. Repairs to drives, yards and mailboxes also are included in this program. The Street Department has an annual Snow/Ice Training Program, equipment check and program review to ensure the best snow/ice removal results.
