Travel Assistance
Richland County Transit has a program that teaches you how to make use of the Public Transit System. A Transit Aide will assist you in learning how to read a bus schedule; how to board and disembark properly; how to determine the destination of a bus; how the transfer process works; as well as the “Do’s and Don’ts” when riding public transit. This service is provided at no extra cost through the Richland County Transit Board. While you are assisted by a Transit Aide there will be no cost to you to ride and learn the transit system. Being able to successfully use public transit can make the difference between dependence and independence. Don’t be intimidated any longer - enjoy life again and come with RCT and learn to be totally independent again. For more information call 522-4504 and ask for the “Learn to Ride” Program.

Public Transit
Every time we use public transit we are helping protect the quality of our lives and benefit our communities. We reduce congestion in Ohio’s cities, save millions of dollars in highway repair and construction costs, conserve vital energy resources, improve air quality and create jobs and economic opportunities. But most important of all, we provide valuable members of our society with greater mobility. Bus service is the most perishable of services. When a bus trip is scheduled, there is no way of knowing how many people are going to use it. It costs just about as much to run the bus whether it is full or empty, and once the schedule has been run, there is no way to salvage that part which has not been used. It is gone forever. Today and for the future, Richland County Transit will be providing transportation choices that make a positive impact on our everyday lives. We are your transit system and we can get you where you need to go. We are proud to serve you.
