Waste Water Treatment
Plant
Laboratory
The
laboratory at the Mansfield Wastewater Treatment Plant is used to
perform analysis needed both for compliance with requirements
specified by the NPDES permit and also for treatment plant process
control. Two full time
laboratory technicians are employed to perform the analysis and to
report the results.
Monitoring
Program
Samples
are collected to fulfill permit requirements for testing plant
influent, final effluent, combined effluent, the receiving streams:
upstream, downstream and plant processed sludge as well as for
industrial and process control monitoring.
The
following tests are performed in house:
Ammonia
Nitrogen, Kjeldahl, TKN Nitrogen, NO2 and NO3 Nitrogen, CBOD5,
Dissolved Oxygen, Oil & Grease, pH, Total suspended solids, Total
hardness, Chlorine residual (Summer only), Fecal coliform (Summer
only), Process sludge weight, Sludge solids, % total; Sludge solids, %
volatile.
Metals:
Cadmium,
Total; Chromium, Total; Chromium (Hex) Dissolved; Copper, Total; Lead,
Total; Nickel, Total; Zinc, Total.
